Demonising drugs and those who take them is counterproductive, according to a two-year study into Britain’s drug policy.
The RSA Commission report says that the concept of "drugs" should be extended to alcohol and prescription drugs and dismisses current drugs policy as "not fit for purpose".
The current policy, its says, is driven by “moral panic” and is ineffective, with huge amounts of money being wasted on “futile” attempts to get drugs off the streets.
