Gags across the water

While PBS in America has dropped a programme about Islamic extremism from its schedule:

[The producer] wrote that his documentary depicts the plight of moderate Muslims who are silenced by Islamic extremists, adding, "Now it appears to be PBS and CPB who are silencing them."
The BBC has withdrawn a commission for a programme about Iraq War Victoria Cross winner Private Johnson Beharry:
The corporation has cancelled the commission for a 90-minute drama about Britain's youngest surviving Victoria Cross hero because it feared it would alienate members of the audience opposed to the war in Iraq.

Note: PBS and the BBC are both funded from taxation.
