Blog service providers in China are "encouraged" to register users with their real names and contact information, according to a new government document that tones down an earlier proposal banning anonymous online blogging.It's good there isn't a legal ban, but the trend is worrying. Those who complain about blog culture in the UK are leaning in this direction too, it seems to me.
At least 10 major Chinese blog service providers have agreed to sign the "self-discipline pledge" issued by the Internet Society of China, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported Tuesday.
That whenever any form of Government becomes destructive of those ends,
it is the right of the People to alter or abolish it and to institute new Government.
