The slow death of Microsoft

Firefox is now the most-used browser visiting this site, and it's accounting for almost 50% of page reads.

I can't remember the last time Microsoft made the news in anything other than a "their new product doesn't suck much" way.

But remember, nobody ever got fired for buying IBM.

"{Microsoft's] new product doesn't suck much"

Why, is it a vacuum cleaner?

If only there was a viable open source Direct X that was supported by games manufacturers - I'd drop MS in a flash.

Linux is for geeks, and only for geeks. It is also the Wizards' full employment scam - no human can make it work unless some wizard has done it for them first.

As far as most of the world is concerned, Windows is just "how computers work"; show them something else, however good it might be in theory, and they're lost. They become unproductive and just want an "ordinary" computer back again.

Real people - especially in businesses - are not about to give up on Windows.

Firefox is pulling ahead, and for a good reason. It's lightweight, secure, and to me has a much better interface. I can't stand some features of IE like the password manager. To me it's worthless. Firefox has an excellent password manager and overall is very easy to use. I use Firefox 3 on Fedora 10 Linux, which is the most stable and secure platform available. I couldn't be happier.
