In the Telegraph today, we read firstly that:
Council bosses today defended a decision to investigate an "alleged odour nuisance" caused by a couple smoking in their own home. And secondly that:
Jeanette and Gavin Gordon-Crawley were stunned when they were told officials were to probe their smoking habits following a complaint from a neighbour.
Council tenants' groups are to be given the power to apply for anti-social behaviour orders to tackle nuisance residents under powers put before Parliament today. We have to wait for the next Queen's Speech for the proposal that children should be given merit badges for reporting their own parents to community re-education centres if they fail to recycle their rubbish properly.
