Radio 5 Live

I will be taking part in a radio discussion tomorrow, Saturday 15th September, on BBC Radio 5. The subject will be freedom of expression and its limits, the context will be the calls for the Pope to apologise for the offense he has caused parts of the Muslim world. Broadcast time will be around 8:30pm.

There will be another person taking part but I don't yet know who it will be.

UPDATE - I will be debating with Dilip Hiro.

will try to listen and hope you do well. make sure the beeb give you the same airtime and ask to go seond so that you get the lasy point in at the end.

The Beeb always try to give the anti-establishment speaker the last word.

I've just listened to it again. If this is the face of "moderate" Islam - heaven help us.

I'm appalled with Piennar and Lesley for allowing Hiro to rant on without stopping him to let you speak.

I know it's pathetic of me but I couldn't help giggling at his pronunciation of psalm...

Have just listened to the 'phone-in.

Am appalled by the vacuousness of Victoria Derbyshire - a proponent of censorship in effect - by her repeated remarks that the Pope (knowing how 'sensitive' Muslims are) shouldn't have said ANYTHING about them.

Good to get some feedback from you, Peter. Didn't listen tonight (on the World Service) but heh Coronation St was on but hope it went well.
